Samsung launched DRAM-less 980 SSD at more affordable price

Samsung is doing well in the NAND and DRAM market as the company has maintained its market share in the fourth quarter of 2020. Moving forward, it has now launched an affordable version of 980 SSD which is an affordable version of 980 Pro SSD.

The 980 Pro SSDs introduced in the year 2020 offered a brilliant speed while handling intense tasks. While the new SSD is launched as an affordable version of the previous one. It uses optimized components, advanced heat dissipation technology, and power efficiency for a better PC experience.

The latest consumer SSD is suitable for everyday PC users, content creators, and gamers which provides good speed and power. It is also 56% more efficient and reliable than its predecessor 970 EVO. The new SSD uses the Turbowrite 2.0 technology to enhance the performance by allotting much larger storage in the drive.

With such performance, the new 980 SSD gives better results and performs well in everyday PC use. Regarding the specifications, the new SSD 980 has a PCIe Gen.3.0 x4, NVMe 1.4 interface, and an M.2 form factor. The SSD can speed read and write is 3,500 / 3,000 MB/s and random read and write speed up to 500k IOPS/ 480K IPS.

It uses the Samsung Magician Management software and benefits from AES 256-bit Full Disk Encryption, TCG/Opal V2.0, and Encrypted Drive (IEEE1667) data encryption technologies. It is available in three configurations that are 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB which costs $49.99, $69.99, and $129.99, respectively.
