Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 tipped to hike price for some Android phone makers

Qualcomm is speeding up the development of the next Snapdragon chip that will make its debut in late 2023. In the meantime, tipsters are bringing the latest inputs on the key specs and price details of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Android devices, and it looks like things will take a new hike for some tech makers.

According to the famed Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation, Qualcomm could raise the price of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip for some Android phone developers. As a result of which, some manufacturers need to continue processing their upcoming models with the previous processor – Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or maybe a Dimensity chip.

Often high-cost chipsets results in expensive smartphone models in the market. The latest example is the Galaxy S23 series. Hence, this could be a reason why manufacturers are looking for other routes for 2024 releases.
