Moreover, Sony’s previous goal was to produce more than 16 million devices in this financial year in order to complete the current sales target and also grab the opportunity for next year’s production.
However, it seems to be found challenging for the PS5 to achieve its sales target of 14.8 million units. So, people familiar with the matter said that Sony has now cut its production target to about 15 million units.
Furthermore, the financial report of Sony shows since its launch it has sold 13.4 million PS5 units. As of September 30, in the second quarter of financial 2021, 3.3 million PS5 and 200,000 PS4 were sold.
