TSMC is one of the largest chipmakers across the globe, which is ready to give a tough spot to the Intel 1.8nm-class process with its 2nm tech. On the other hand, the company believes that its N3P (3nm) will offer comparable traits with Intel’s approaching chipsets.
Intel and TSMC constantly make efforts to beat the tech products of each other. While the former is leading the race with early developments of the 18A (1.8nm-class) and is said to be available earlier, TSMC believes that its 2nm tech products will be much better than Intel and will always stand at the top positions.
Here is what the chief executive of TSMC – C.C. Wei said:
“Our internal assessment shows that our N3P demonstrated comparable [power performance area] to [Intel] 18A, my competitor’s technology, but with an earlier time to market, better technology maturity, and much better cost. In fact, let me repeat again, our 2nm technology without backside power (N2) is more advanced than both N3P and 18A, and will be the semiconductor industry’s most advanced technology when it is introduced in 2025.”
