Android 13 Tip: How to customize Themed app icon on Google phone
Android 13 beta brings many changes to its previous Android 12 version that comes with several new enhancements and a lot of customization options one of them being the personalized Themed app icon.
With Android 12, Google introduced the Material You concept, this concept comes with many new customization options and the Themed icon is part of them. The Themed icon allows you to add the same color and change dynamically based on wallpapers.
Beginning with Android 13, you can opt into themed app icons. With this feature, app icons in supported Android launchers are colored to based on the color of the user’s chosen wallpaper and other themes.
Android 13 Tip: How to customize the Themed app icon on a Google phone
Firstly, we are looking at the following requirements for themed icons to work:
- Android 13
- Monet enabled by the device maker
- Launcher support
- App-level support
Now let’s start to customize the Themed icon on the Google Pixel phone:
Now, tap and hold the empty home screen and tap on the Wallpaper and style. From here, Tap on the multiple options to customize the Themed icon such as Themed icons and Dark theme.
- Themed icons: It allows you to add the same color and change dynamically based on wallpapers. Tap on the toggle to enable it.
- Wallpaper colors: You can choose the wallpaper color that you want.
- Dark theme: You can customize the app icon with Dark color to help to reduce eye stress. Tap on the toggle to enable it.
Android 12 Material You feature:
Material You is a dynamic theming engine that replaces all the colors of your system UI with the wallpaper you choose. It changes the color tuning of various system elements like app UI, settings background, notification shade, quick settings tiles, search bar, keyboard, widgets as well as the Themed icon.
