Xiaomi MIUI 12.5 Tip: Activate Device Control feature in your smartphone

Google introduced Android 11 with a lot of new and premium features. One of its interesting features is Device Controls. This feature help users to easily control their smart home devices with their smartphones.

But when Google designed this feature to show up in the Power Menu on all devices running Android 11, some OEMs such as Xiaomi have placed it in a different location on their respective Android skins.

The Quick Access Device Controls feature allows the user to quickly view and control external devices such as lights, thermostats, and cameras from a user affordance within three interactions from a default launcher.

If you have a Xiaomi device running Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 or MIUI 12, here’s how you can access the Device Controls feature on your phone.

How to active Device Control Feature:

• Enable the new Control center on your phone, to enable it
  • Head over the device settings
  • Tap on the Display option
  • Select the Control center and Notification shade option
  • Tap on the toggle next to the “Use new Control center” option
• Head back to your home screen
• Open the new Control center

After you follow the steps, you’ll see the new Device Controls section in the Control center underneath the Quick Settings toggles.
