Huawei is rolling out a new EMUI update for Huawei P9/P9 Plus, P Smart Z, Mate 20 Lite, P40, and FreeBuds 4i. The company also released the HarmonyOS update for Nova 4e/8 SE/7 SE. Check more details below.

Huawei P9 and P9 Plus:

Both devices are now getting the January 2021 security patch and add some new features to the device. This software for the P9 devices also brings stability to the system for a better user experience. It installs new applications, optimizes search features on the home screen, improves system stability, adds new apps shortcuts. To be mentioned, this new firmware also improves system security with patches released in January 2021 (via HC Newsroom).

 

Huawei P Smart Z:

According to the latest info, the Huawei P Smart Z is now receiving May 2021 security update along with new applications. The newest firmware for the P Smart Z can be identified with EMUI 10.0 version 10.0.253 (C431E112R1P2) and comes with an update size of 337MB. In addition to the security improvements, there is a shortcut added for downloading Huawei apps.

It also brings several new applications such as Petal Search, Books, Petal Maps, GameCenter Member Center, and Link Now. All these apps can be directly downloaded by tapping on their shortcuts (via HC Newsroom).

 

Huawei Mate 20 Lite:

Huawei Mate 20 Lite is now getting the June 2021 security update. This new software update installs improved system security and brings performance stability.

The Huawei Mate 20 Lite is currently running EMUI 10.0 version. This smartphone will also soon get the new HarmonyOS 2.0 upgrade which is already rolling out in the global market. The June 2021 security patch carries the EMUI 10.0 version 10.0.0.286 (C432E1R1P1). Besides security improvements, the Mate 20 Lite June 2021 update does not bring any further changes to the changelog. Users will have to download file size of 109MB (via HC Newsroom).

 

Huawei Watch 3 series:

Huawei Watch 3 series pre-installed with HarmonyOS 2.0 starts receiving a new firmware update in China. However, this latest update has already reached users in the global market.

According to the information, Huawei has now begun expanding the display, connection, and system stability improvements for Huawei Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro smartwatches to level up the operating experience.

 

Huawei P40 series:

Huawei P40 series global units began receiving a new software update that brings June 2021 security patch. These security improvements are already being rolled out for several eligible Huawei devices running EMUI software.

As usual, it’s a staged rollout, so may take time to cover each and every device. Still, you can check it out on your P40 devices and match the latest EMUI 11 version from 11.0.0.193 (C636E5R4P3).

 

Huawei FreeBuds 4i:

Huawei FreeBuds 4i with 3D bionic design is one of Huawei’s popular audio wearables in the global market. To increase the user experience, the company is releasing a new Huawei FreeBuds 4i update.

The FreeBuds 4i is a true wireless stereo earphone, which provides an easy pairing solution to other devices using Bluetooth connectivity. For better performance, the connection between the two devices should be stable and strong.

 

Huawei Nova 4e:

Huawei Nova 4e has finally entered the HarmonyOS 2.0 beta program. This operating system allows the Nova 4e to upgrade with new features and provide a better user experience.

The HarmonyOS 2.0 closed beta for the Nova 4e carries version 2.0.0.137 upgrading from EMUI 10.0 version 10.0.0.168. To check your device’s current version navigate to Settings > About phone > Version number.

Huawei is rolling out the HarmonyOS 2.0 in China, while the users in the global markets are still waiting for the beta tests. Also, the company hasn’t yet revealed its plan for HM OS upgrade outside China.
