Android 14 to bring ‘Predictive Back’ capability for Quick Settings

Android 14 is nearing its official release and by this time, the company is busy testing brand-new features that can make the next software version distinct from previous builds. Accordingly, Android 14 is now testing the Predictive Back capability for Quick Settings and System UI segments.

It’s not the first time when the manufacturer has initiated this feature. Google has started testing Predictive Back with Android 13. However, it seems like the company will finally bring this functionality to general consumers rather than confined to developer settings.

To those who are unaware, the Predictive Back gesture for Quick Settings in Android 14 will help you to exit an app and return to the home screen. You further get a grid of icons appearing in the background. Apart from the Quick Panel, Google is testing this feature for the System UI.

Note that the latest implementations are not live and it’s still a question whether the company will bring these changes to the surface or not. Yet, we can wait for the stable software release which is not so far.
