After several reports, Google is officially flaunting the new 3D robot logo for the Android brand. Explaining the goal behind the iconic makeover, the tech maker says that the new branding will help connect Android to Google and highlight innovative future goals.
Google further cites that the appearance of the new 3D robot logo for Android is keenly inspired by Material You design. At the same time, the company has capitalized the ‘A’ and added more weight to the Android’s name when placed next to Google’s logo.
“The new Android stylization more closely mirrors Google’s logo and creates a balance between the two. These small but significant updates to the Android typeface will better communicate the relationship between Android devices and the Google apps and services people already know.”
Apart from the wordmark, Google has revamped the bugdroid with more dimension, and a lot more character. The new body appearance ensures that it can easily transition between digital and real-life environments, making it a versatile and reliable companion across channels, platforms, and contexts.
Instead of a flat bottom, the Android body now shows off in a domed capsule shape. This entire new logo and typeface for Android will appear on Android devices and other places starting this year.
