August 2020 security and software update is now rolling out for Huawei P40 lite

Huawei P40 lite is now receiving new updates that include the latest security patches and the Petal Search box on the home for a fast app browsing experience.

This device is officially sold in the UK only. It offers a quad-camera system, runs on EMUI 10.1 With Huawei Mobile Service (HMS)+ AppGallery.

CHANGELOG:

System: Adds the Petal Search box to the home screen for easier app searches.

Security: Integrated Android security patches released in July 2020 for improved system security.

  • The update will not erase any data.
  • Maintain enough storage and battery.
  • If possible, connect to Wifi.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:

Through Setting:

  1. Open Settings in your device.
  2. Click on system & updates.
  3. Click on software update.
  4. Check for update
  5. Click on the download button.
  6. Install updates
  7. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen.
  8. Reboot the device.

Through Support app:

  1. Open Support app in your device.
  2. If not installed, download it from play store.
  3.  Open service tab.
  4. Tap on update.
  5. Check for updates
  6. Click on the download button.
  7. Install updates
  8. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen.
  9. Reboot the device.
