Carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy S20 gets May 2023 update in the US
Samsung is dispatching a new software update for the owners of Galaxy S20 series devices in the US, which installs the all-new May 2023 Android security patch with common improvements and fixes. The latest firmware will allow the owners of the device to run the handy gadget more smoothly and securely.
The consumers of the Galaxy S20 lineup are currently enjoying the functionalities of Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1 and are not eligible to obtain any major update in the future even the forthcoming One UI 6.0 based on Android 14. Thus, the monthly security patch will continue to be served for the models.
As per the information, the May 2023 update for Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra has arrived with One UI build version G981USQS4HWE1, G986USQS4HWE1, and G988USQS4HWE1 respectively in the US. Also, make sure to have sufficient storage as it carries a 282.42MB package size.
To be noted, the update is rolling out on the T-Mobile networks in the US and is specially released for the carrier-locked models of Galaxy S20. May 2023 update
The May 2023 firmware will improve the performance grade of the device and enhance its security and stability to maintain the user experience. Simultaneously the patch will also help to fix some common bugs and glitches that may have been discovered in the system, reducing the risk of system crashes and data loss.
In addition to all this, the May 2023 security patch bulletin also mentions fixes for a total of 70 exploits and vulnerabilities including 4 Critical, 48 High level, and 3 Moderate levels of common vulnerability exposures along with 21 Samsung vulnerability exposures to keep the system protected and smooth.
Other than this there is no new feature or major changes noticed in the changelog, but we suggest installing the patch as soon as it reaches you. As it will make the system up to date with the most recent security protocols and technology improvements, which is essential for a better running of the system.
