Launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10, Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro have begun collecting their first software update in the US.
However, instead of Samsung, a major network operator – Verizon is releasing this software update for its United States unit. This brings a fix for the most reported issue in order to enhance the users’ experience.

The Galaxy Watch 5 series users were not able to receive Wireless Emergency Alert messages on the smartwatch if the message contained more than 255 characters. However, there were no such problems with receiving other text messages.
Now, according to the official changelog for the latest update, this issue has been resolved. Users can now receive Wireless Emergency Alert messages that contain lots of characters on their Watch 5.
Other than these, the latest update further improves the device’s performance so that you can have a seamless experience with your brand-new Watch 5 or Watch 5 Pro.
It’s worth mentioning that Samsung has not yet begun delivering the new wearables to consumers, however, these will start reaching from August 26. It means that you will get a new software update as soon as you unbox and set up your wearable.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro are getting their first software update with the build versions R905USQU1AVH2, R915USQU1AVH2, and R925USQU1AVH2 for the 40mm, 44mm, and 45mm respectively.
