Here’s one good news for users who were disappointed a few days back, as Samsung has now added back the Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy S20 FE to the monthly update batch. Yes, you read it right, the tech giant has again revised its software update plan to make some substantial changes.
On April 2nd, 2024, Samsung shared the details of the April 2024 security patch alongside the software update schedule for Galaxy devices. In that, the Korean tech giant moved the Galaxy S20 Series, Galaxy Note 20 Series, and Galaxy S20 FE from monthly to quarterly update batch.

But now, Samsung has again revised its software update schedule and brought back monthly update support for Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and Galaxy S20 FE. However, this news might have bring a wave of excitement among Galaxy users owning the mentioned models.

On the other side, the Galaxy S20 series continues to remain on quarterly update batch. Hence, the owners of the Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy S20 FE both 4G and 5G models will continue to receive security patches which include fixes and enhancements every month.
While the consumers of Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra will get a new update in every three months. However, it’s the fourth day of the month and the improvements of the April 2024 security patch are currently only live for the Galaxy S24 series, while, it’s expected to reach devices soon.
