Google may allow users to share audio with nearby devices via Android 15 Auracast feature
Google is known to provide its users a level best experience, and for that, the firm keeps on bringing features that are useful and anticipated by users. Meanwhile, recent information claims that Google may also allow its users to share audio with nearby devices through the dedicated Auracast feature of Android 15 OS.
To be mentioned, Android 15 is the next iteration of Google’s Android custom skin and it is expected to come with several promised features and capabilities. However, one of them could be the ability to broadcast audio to nearby devices using Bluetooth LE Audio.
Although Auracast was announced over a year ago, but there aren’t many headsets on the market that support it. However, this could change in 2024, though, as many accessory makers are going to release new products that support Auracast now that most smartphones that are being released also support it.
So, to get prepare for these new devices, Google is gearing up to add a dedicated audio-sharing page in Android 15 that lets users share or connect to nearby LE Audio streams. This page will let users toggle audio sharing, scan QR codes to join nearby streams, change Bluetooth devices, and see a list of available streams.
Notably, Auracast enables broadcasting audio to nearby devices using Bluetooth Low Energy without the hassle of pairing, but only if both the broadcaster and receiver devices support Auracast for this feature to work.
