Huawei Mate 40 launched as the base variant of the Mate 40 series in the second half of 2020. It comes with several high-end features such as Kirin 9000E processor, a powerful camera, OLED display with a high refresh rate, fast charging, and more.
The smartphone came with pre-installed EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10. Well, the end of an era comes for the EMUI and Huawei welcomes the new HarmonyOS as the future of its devices. HarmonyOS 2.0 was officially announced on June 02 and just after that, the public beta program was started with 28 devices in the first batch.

Meanwhile, the Mate 40 devices were part of it since the developer betas were started back in December 2020. After getting three developer beta updates, the Mate 40 received its first public beta in the first batch which had 28 devices after the announcement of HarmonyOS on June 02.
HarmonyOS 2.0 is a new operating system designed by Huawei with several intelligent and useful features that make the user life easy. And that defines one of its features called Super Device, as per this function, it lets the user control all the devices with a single supermodel.
