Honor 9A is getting a new software update with Magic UI 3.1 in China. The latest version of Magic UI brings some optimizations and new features such as Knuckle Gesture, Huawei Assistant, Dark mode.
Honor 9A will available in the global market starting the first week of July 2020. However, the global version of Honor 9A comes with Magic UI 3.1 out of the box.

A new software update for Honor 9A comes with Magic UI 3.1 version 3.1.0.166.
Important: Software version, size, and rollout availability could be different in different countries.

HOW TO CHECK FOR UPDATE:
[Through Settings] Settings – System & updates – Software update – CHECK FOR UPDATES – Download and install.
[Through Support App] Open Support App – Service Tab – Update – CHECK FOR UPDATES – Download and install.
CHANGELOG OF THIS UPDATE:
Knuckle Gesture: Adds knuckle gesture feature, use fingers to take a screenshot, enable multi-window mode, or start screen recording.
Huawei Assitant: Huawei Assistant: Adds Huawei Assistant to the home screen, providing smart reminders personalized news, and other content relevant to you.
Apps: Adds third party app optimizations.
Dark mode: Adds Dark mode support for more third-party apps.
