Honor pushed the latest security update based on EMUI 9.1 (Android 9) for Honor Play 8 users. The August 2020 security updates improve system security for a better user experience.

POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND BEFORE UPDATE:

  • The update will not erase any data.
  • Maintain enough storage and battery.
  • If possible, connect to Wifi.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:

Through Setting:

  1. Open Settings in your device.
  2. Click on system & updates.
  3. Click on the software update.
  4. Check for updates.
  5. Click on the download button.
  6. Install updates.
  7. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen.
  8. Reboot the device.

Through Support app:

  1. Open Support app in your device.
  2. If not installed, download it from the play store.
  3.  Open service tab.
  4. Tap on update.
  5. Check for updates.
  6. Click on the download button.
  7. Install updates.
  8. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen.
  9. Reboot the device.
