Honor V20 series users receiving January 2022 HarmonyOS security update

Honor is sending January 2022 HarmonyOS software update for Honor V20 series smartphone users. January 2022 security patch improves the security of the device with the latest HarmonyOS software version 2.0.0.220. It’s an initial rollout so the update may take some time to cover all users.

The January 2022 HarmonyOS security patch fixes 4 CVEs in the framework, 10 CVEs in the system, and 5 CVEs in the application. Also, it also resolves the huge count of 111 CVEs found in the third-party libraries for better system security.

With the steady update rollout, Huawei improves the software system and resolves privacy issues, as well as vulnerabilities that may slow the performance

  • Honor V20 (PCT-AL10)
  • Honor V20 (PCT-TL10)
  • Honor V20 Moschino Edition (PCT-AL10)

How to update:

To install the update manually, open the Settings > click on the System & updates > open Software update > tap on CHECK FOR UPDATES option > if an update is available, click on Download and install > after installation, restart the device.

Alternatively, you can download it via Support App – open Support app on your device > click on the Service tab > click on the update button> tap on CHECK FOR UPDATES option> (if an update is available) click on Download and install > after completion of the installation process, reboot the device.
