Huawei rolling out April 2021 security update for Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro Plus [Europe]

Huawei has confirmed at the event that 18 of its devices are directly eligible for the direct upgrade over the public beta version of HarmonyOS 2.0 including the Huawei P40 series.

The Huawei P40 series phones were the first to participate in the HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta testing from the initial stage. However, the HarmonyOS rollout is currently limited to the Chinese market and will soon expand globally.

Alongside, the company is also taking care of the security updates for the eligible devices. According to the latest information, Huawei P40 series phones are getting a new update with April 2021 security patch in Europe.

Besides the security improvements, the latest update also brings some new features for the P40, P40+, and P40 Pro Plus devices. Further, it fixes several new bugs and vulnerabilities found in the latest software build.

Before installing the update make sure that your phone has a minimum of 50% battery and it’s compulsory to check your storage to download the update as per the size required. For, large updates, always use high-speed Wi-Fi.

Version Numbers:

Huawei P40 is getting EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.184 with an update size of 308MB, while the P40 Pro+ is receiving EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.186 (C432E3R3P3) with the same update size of 308MB in Europe

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in April 2021.

April 2021 security patch details: This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 17 high and 69 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.
