Huawei Mate 20 X 5G (EMUI 11) getting May 2021 security update

Huawei’s May 2021 security update is now rolling out for Huawei Mate 20 X 5G smartphones which are currently running on EMUI 11. The update is limited to install improved security for these devices without any other add ons.

According to Huawei, the May 2021 security patch fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium, levels of CVEs. The latest firmware for Mate 20 X 5G can be identified with EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.141 in China.

Before you update your device to the latest version, we recommend you take a backup for your important data and use a stable internet connection to download the update. Do not forcefully turn off the smartphones once the installation is started.

HarmonyOS 2.0 for Mate 20 X 5G

The Huawei Mate 20 received the HarmonyOS 2.0 closed beta update in the second batch of the rollout. These smartphones have received their initial beta update replacing the EMUI with the brand new HarmonyOS 2.0.

HarmonyOS 2.0 brings amount of new features and completely changes the scene of smartphones that were previously running EMUI OS. It comes with features such as a new control panel, service center, HarmonyOS fonts, better security, and much more.

[Through Support App] Open Support App – Service Tab – Update – CHECK FOR UPDATES – Download and install.
