Huawei Mate 30E Pro and P40 Lite receiving February 2021 security update

In October last year, Huawei launched a low-end version of its old flagship product series, the Huawei Mate 30E Pro. The model is very similar to the Mate 30 Vanilla variant. In order to make it a budget smartphone, the company only replaced its processor. The phone gets its first software update with the January 2021 security improvements.

Talking about Huawei P40 lite, the phone initially debuted on EMUI 10, and the device further received a major update to EMUI 10.1. However, this device can run on EMUI 11, but the official confirmation is still waiting.

Now, Huawei has begun to rollout a new software update for Huawei Mate 30E Pro and Huawei P40 Lite smartphones. This update mainly brings the security patch released in February 2021 that enhances the system security of the device as well as boosts overall system performance.

Aside from this, the company has concluded the EMUI 11 beta program for all devices, which are recruited in the first of testing in China as well as globally.

Talking about the latest custom OS features, it offers artistic AOD, super notepad, AI subtle, multiwindow-multitasking, and more.

Updated EMUI Version:

Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G

  • EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.175 upgrading from 11.0.0.160

Huawei P40 Lite

  • EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.311 with an update size of 185MB

Updated Changelog:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in February 2021.

Security patch details: February 2021 security patch fixes 2 critical and 26 high levels, and 77 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

How to update:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings 
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Note: 

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  • EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.
