Huawei Mate 40 series (HarmonyOS 2) getting improvements for Celia Voice Assistant
Huawei Mate 40 devices running the new HarmonyOS 2.0 software are now getting a new software update that brings several optimizations for Celia AI Voice assistant. The update is rolling out for the following devices.
- Huawei Mate 40
- Huawei Mate 40 Pro
- Huawei Mate 40 Pro+
- Huawei Mate 40 RS Porsche Design
The firmware is releasing OTA for the users running HarmonyOS 2.0. And being the staged rollout, there might be some time for you to get these optimizations. And besides these sorts of optimizations, there aren’t any other changes noted in the changelog.

Celia is a virtual assistant from Huawei for its devices that can perform several tasks on user’s voice commands. It can be triggered just by saying ‘Hey Celia’ or holding the power button for a longer time. With the latest firmware update on Mate 40 devices, Celia will be more improved and optimized than before.

Huawei Mate 40 HarmonyOS 2 update status:
Huawei Mate 40 phones were the initial devices of Huawei to test the HarmonyOS 2.0. From the very beginning, these models were up for the developer beta testing that was started back in December 2020. After the announcement on June 02, these smartphones were among the top models for beta testing.
Even, the Chinese OEM has announced the first stable version of the HM OS including the Mate 40, P40, Mate 30, Mate X2, and MatePad Pro devices. However, this beta program is currently limited in China and will soon expand to other regions as well.
