Huawei rolling out May 2021 security update for MatePad 10.4 tablet
Huawei has released its June 2021 security bulletin for devices running on EMUI and the update will soon begin to show up on the eligible devices. Meanwhile, the company is releasing May 2021 update for the remaining devices.
As such, the Huawei MatePad 10.1 is now getting a new software update which brings the May 2021 security patch for improved system security and device stability. In addition, it fixes several bugs and vulnerabilities found in the latest software build.

Uses can identify the new firmware with EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.190 which is upgraded from EMUI 10.1.1.183. The update is currently rolling out in China and will soon expand to more regions. The EMUI version and the size of the update may vary and while downloading, users should make sure to maintain enough storage and battery.

The Huawei MatePad 10.1 is one of the topmost devices for upgrading to the HarmonyOS 2.0. The tablet was part of closed beta testing and even started getting beta builds via OTA in China.
How to check for updates?
Download via Settings:
Open Settings > then click on System & updates. After opening a Software update, tap on Check for updates option. If the update is available to download then click Download and install. And after installation Reboot the device.
Download via Support app:
Open the Support app on your device and then go to the Service tab. Click on the Update button and then tap on Check for update option. If the update is available then click on Download and install. After installation Reboot the device.
