In the midst of HarmonyOS 2.0 rollout, Huawei is also sending regular security updates for its smartphones. As such the Huawei Nova 7 5G is receiving May 2021 security patch internationally for improved system security and device stability. The company is yet to release these improvements in China.
Users can easily identify the latest version of the update rolling out with EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.157 upgraded from the previous 11.0.0.155 in the Middle East. This new firmware will take around 257MB of your data to install.

The May 2021 patch includes fixes for different exploits and issues which include 3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium CVEs for improved system security.
As usual, this is a staged rollout and may take a while/days to reach your device. Also, take a backup before installing it to prevent any kind of data loss. And do use a stable connection to download the update on your device.
Huawei Nova 7 HarmonyOS update status
HarmonyOS 2.0, Huawei launched its new operating system for devices such as smartphones, tablets, IoT devices, and more. Just after its announcement, the company has also revealed its plan to install the new OS on a maximum number of devices.
The Nova 7 phones are on the company’s top priority list to get updated to the HM OS. These devices are currently under beta testing and so on, they will reach the stable version in China. Meanwhile, the company is still to announce the international rollout plan for the HarmonyOS 2.0.
