Huawei Nova 8 Pro and Nova 8 SE receiving March 2021 update

Huawei has started to release a new security update for Nova 8 and 8 SE smartphones. The update comes with several optimizations and security improvements.

As per the Nova 8 SE update log, the update mainly installs the security patches released in February 2021. This security patch fixes different levels of exploits and problems, thereby improving system security.

While the Nova 8 Pro update comes with new optimizations for display and system stability, making your phone run smoother and more stable.

Apart from this, a few weeks ago, the company has released an update for Nova 8 and 8 Pro smartphones, which brought February 2021 security update and new improvements for knuckle gestures.

In December 2020, Huawei launched the Nova series, Nova 8. This lineup consists of Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro and comes with various new features such as a 120Hz refresh, new camera system, 7nm Kirin 985 chipset, dual selfie camera, and more.

Talking about the Nova 8 SE, the phone was launched in November last year with two different hardware configurations. It offers a 6.53-inch display with 2400 x 1080 resolution, EMUI 10.1, MediaTek Dimensity 720/800U processor, 64MP rear camera, 16MP selfie camera, 3800mAh battery, and more.

How to update:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings 
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
    EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.
