Huawei P30 series (EMUI 10.1) getting September 2020 security update

Huawei is expanding the reach of the September 2020 security patch for the Huawei P30 series, as it’s now available for users in China and other markets.

According to the changelog, the update improves the system stability for a better user experience. However, the company reportedly confirms that EMUI 11 beta testing will soon kick off for P30 users in China.

Previously, the September 2020 security update with a different firmware version is released for Huawei P30 series users in India.

  • The update will not erase any data.
  • Maintain enough storage and battery.
  • If possible, connect to Wifi.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:

Through Setting:

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Click on system & updates
  3. Click on the software update
  4. Check for updates
  5. Click on the download button
  6. Install updates
  7. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen
  8. Reboot the device

Through Support app:

  1. Open the Support app on your device
  2. If not installed, download it from the play store
  3.  Open service tab
  4. Tap on update
  5. Check for updates
  6. Click on the download button
  7. Install updates
  8. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen
  9. Reboot the device
