Huawei sending new software update for Huawei P40 phones for the global variant to make them more security-proof. Users can match the new version number of the firmware to EMUI version 11.0.0.193 (C432E3R6P4) if arrived on their P40.
This update takes 294MB of data on your device, however, both the version number and the update size may vary for different models. This software update brings May 2021 security patch to improve system security and bring stability to the device.

According to Huawei, the May 2021 security patch fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium levels of CVE for improved system security. Additionally, it resolves 13 hidden privacy issues found in the previous updates.
Huawei P40 HarmonyOS global rollout
The Huawei P40 phones are the first priority for HarmonyOS 2 and they have received the beta update in the first phase of rollout that began just after the announcement of the new HM OS. However, the beta program is currently limited to China and the company is yet to announce for global users.
Meanwhile, the P40 device has also received its first stable update among the top 18 devices recently. This stable rollout suggests that the HarmonyOS could be soon coming to the global variants.
