Huawei P40 Pro and Mate 30 Pro getting February 2021 security update

Recently, Huawei has completed the installation of EMUI 11 for Huawei P40 and Mate 30 series globally, but the company is still expanding the reach of EMUI 11 to more devices.

In order to further improve, the company has started to roll out a new software update for these smartphones. The update mainly installs the latest February 2021 security patch which brings new security improvements to protect your phones from bugs and exploits.

Apart from this, no change has been noted by the changelog. Below you can check the updated software version of these devices.

About Device:

Back in 2019, Huawei uncovered the Huawei Mate 30 Pro smartphone, which comes with a 6.53-inch touchscreen display, powered by a 1.86GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 990 processor,  8GB of RAM, and more. Previously, the phone received the January 2021 security update which fixes 4 critical, 1 medium, and 25 high levels of CVEs.

Moving forward to the P40 Pro, the company launched this smartphone in November 2020. It comes with a 6.5-inch bezel-less display, triple camera setup, 4000mAh battery, and more. In the previous update, the phone received the new Super Night Scene 3.0 for better nighttime portraits along with front camera improvement.

How to update:

Download via Settings:

Open Settings > then click on System & updates. After opening a Software update, tap on Check for updates option. If the update is available to download then click Download and install. And after installation Reboot the device.

Download via Support app:

Open the Support app on your device and then go to the Service tab. Click on the Update button and then tap on Check for update option. If the update is available then click on Download and install. After installation Reboot the device.

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  • EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.
