Last week, Huawei brought the September 2021 security patch for the Mate 10 and P20 users in China. As expected from a security update, the September patch address several vulnerabilities of different severities and brought bug fixes in the system, kernel, and application interface of the device.
However, seems like it can’t resolve the problems related to incoming call ringtones, and contact customization. In order to address these problems, the phone maker has sent a new patch for the HarmnonyOS users of Mate 10 and P20.
According to the info, the new bug fixes will completely solve the problem where users aren’t able to set the incoming call ringtones on the Huawei Mate 10 and P20 devices. After the update download, it’ll also solve the contact customization issues on some models.
Besides, the calendar widget will have a more optimized user experience as this update also enhances the system performance. Furthermore, the update package also has a moderate size under 65MB for devices. As of now, you can check the changelog below-
As observed from the images, Huawei Mate 10 users have to install a software package of 46.56 MB while the P20 bug fixes update has a slightly bigger size of 62.25MB. Apart from Huawei phones, the Honor V10 is also getting the same fixes assigned on the download pack of 46.57MB.
The update can be installed by using the smartphone setting or My Huawei App. While using the smartphone, open Setting>System & updates> Software Update> Check for updates, if an update is available, click on Download and install. On the other hand, if using the app, open it>Service tab>Update>Check for Update, if found any then click Download and install.
Points to Note Down:
- User data will be safe dining the installation, still, an advance backup is recommended
- The update will delete automatically after installation
- It won’t consume any space in the device’s memory
- If encounter any problem can call the Huawei customer support service
- In case, using My Huawei App, make sure to upgrade the app to the latest version
