Last Update Information: More than 4 years old Galaxy S7/S7 Edge getting a new software update

Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 series more than 4 years ago. The S7 series has completed its software upgrade cycle, as it is too old a flagship series.

The company already stopped giving the latest security update to these devices. Well, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users are now receiving a surprise software update.

According to the official information, some users are now receiving a new software update with the title “Last Update Information”. This latest update comes with the September 2020 security patch.

It may also include fixes for some serious security issues. Samsung, like other manufacturers, releases important software updates to its smartphones even after the device’s software support ended.

The software version of this update is G930W8VLS8CTI1 and G935W8VLS8CTI1 for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge respectively, currently rolling out in Canada. The international variant is getting this update with build numbers G930FXXU8ETI2 and G935FXXU8ETI2 respectively.

If you have the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge in your hands want to check for the latest update, just head into the device Settings and tap on the Software update menu.
