MIUI 15, the latest version of Xiaomi’s custom Android interface, is set to bring a significant change in-app support. With the upcoming update, Xiaomi phones will no longer support 32-bit apps. This decision marks a shift towards optimizing the software for 64-bit architecture and enhancing overall system performance.
MIUI 15 will drop 32-bit apps and only supports 64-bit applications
By dropping support for 32-bit apps, MIUI 15 aims to provide users with a more streamlined experience. The implementation of 64-bit apps allows better utilization of system resources, resulting in improved stability, better efficiency, and reduced power consumption of Android applications.
While this change may impact some older apps that have not been updated to 64-bit, the majority of popular apps have already made the transition. Developers are actively working on optimizing their applications to ensure compatibility with the upcoming MIUI 15 based on Android 14 and other 64-bit platforms.
Xiaomi has also started testing the next MIUI version on some of its un-released devices, including the Redmi 13 series and Xiaomi 14 series, which are rumored to come preinstalled with Android 14-based MIUI 15.
It is worth noting that this time MIUI has finally brought improvements in appearance, introducing the Material You design language promoted by Google, bringing a personalized user interface, and allowing users to adjust icons by themselves.
