Xiaomi recently rolled out the Android 13-based MIUI 14.0.2.0 update for the Redmi 10C devices with several features, but a notable change has caught our attention. Accordingly, the latest firmware adds a new power menu functionality to the effective handset.
Although the update already unlocks a variety of functionalities for the respective devices. Yet, a new power menu is something that’s still away from many of Xiaomi’s top-end models. Therefore, it is quite surprising to see such a change in a budget-friendly smartphone.
According to a rising tech observer @Tech_Mukul, Redmi 10C users received a new power menu with the recent MIUI 14.0.2.0 update which sounds like a simple yet useful change. As of now, the menu appears as a vertical slider with a circular icon in between.
Eventually, you can slide the tab upwards to switch off the device or downwards to reboot it. The feature is better compared to the one where we need to long-press the power button to switch off the smartphone or get the other relevant options.
It is worth mentioning that the Chinese ROM already has this tweak since MIUI 12.5. However, the company is bringing these changes slowly to the global models. Pointing out the difference, a user said that his Redmi Note 10 Pro doesn’t have such a change even though it’s on MIUI 14. Perhaps, Xiaomi needs to serve better treatment to its global devices just like the China handsets.
Hmm…I see…my Note 10 pro doesn't have this yet even though it's running on MiUI 14 pic.twitter.com/PhHmHO5ypc

Meanwhile, we anticipate that the manufacturer will complete the MIUI 14 rollout soon and jump on the MIUI 15 developments. Or else, once again the brand will remain behind in the Android updates rollout race while others leading ahead.
So Redmi 10C users! Have you installed the latest firmware in your handset and noticed this change? What else tweaks did you find after the installation? Let us know in the comment section.
