Xiaomi introduces a new 80W wireless charging technology for its smartphone on October 19, 2020. It is expected to set a new criterion not only in the field of wireless charging, but in charging as a whole.

80W Wireless Charging Technology is capable to charge a 4,000 mAh battery to 10% in 1 minute, 50% in 8 minutes and 100% in just 19 minutes. Xiaomi is following this trend by recognizing the importance of battery life and fast charging for the future development of smartphones.
However, there is no information about when the tech will become commercial, but we expect it on the next Mi flagships.
Last year, 30W Mi Wireless Charging Technology was able to charge 50% in about 25 minutes and 100% of the same battery in 69 minutes. Early this year, Xiaomi annnouced 40W wireless charging in the world, breaking that record in August by Xiaomi’s first mass-produced 50W wireless charging technology.
