Xiaomi has pushed a new software update for Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Explorer Edition users. Aside from system security improvements, this release brings a lot of new features and changes to the smartphone.

According to the info, the Chinese tech giant has released the latest major platform upgrade for the Mi 8 SE, which is the latest version of Xiaomi’s custom skin MIUI is MIUI 12.5. The new version comes with a set of new features to enhance the users’ experience and device performance.
This major update is based on Android 10 and currently rolling out in China, will soon expand in other regions. In addition, it installs the latest security patch for better device security.

MIUI 12.5
In December 2020, Xiaomi launched the newest version of the MIUI, MIUI 12.5, at the Mi 11 launch conference, and its global version was introduced in early February.
MIUI 12.5 comes with the support of Android gesture Turbo which provides an extremely fast response in the system and upgraded its computing power. It also brings system animation design, new light Cone dynamic effect architecture, System sound design, hundreds of global biological sounds, new snow mountain super wallpaper, and more.
However, it is an initial rollout, it may take some time to be available globally. Meanwhile, if you own a Mi 8 Pro or Mi 8 Explorer Edition device, check for the update manually.
