Xiaomi has begun releasing an Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 update for Redmi Note 9 Pro Max users in India. It comes with a bunch of new features and optimizations to enhance the device performance.

As mentioned in the changelog, the new firmware makes a phone lighter, faster, and durable, when compared to the previous version of MIUI. It further fixes the problem that noise could be heard when the screen was turned off in some cases.
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max MIUI 12.5 update is currently rolling out for Mi pilot testers and is expected to be expanded to all users of this device in India soon. You can check the updated software version, download link, and detailed update log mentioned below.

- From the Home Screen swipe down.
- Tap on Settings icon.
- Select About phone.
- Hit on MIUI version menu.
- Finally, click on Download update
