New software update for Huawei Y6 Pro 2019 brings security improvements
While June 2021 security update details are up for the Huawei devices, still there are some models getting April 2021 update. In the meantime, the company is also pushing out the May security patch. It’s the Huawei Y6 Pro 2019 smartphones receiving April 2021 security update this time.
The new firmware for the Y6 Pro comes with older EMUI 9.1 version 9.1.0.410 (C6366E1R1P7). And to download this update, users have to spend around 246MB of data. There’s not much to discuss what’s new, this update is mainly aimed for improving the overall security of the device.

As per Huawei, the April 2021 security update for Huawei devices fixes different levels of exploits including 17 high level and 69 medium levels of CVE. Just make sure you download the update after maintaining enough battery and storage on your device. Also, have patience if the firmware does not yet arrive, as it’s a staged rollout. Lastly, the EMUI version and the size of the update may be different than yours.

Download via Settings:
Open Settings then click on System & updates. After opening a Software update, tap on Check for updates option. If the update is available to download then click Download and install. And after installation Reboot the device.

Open the Support app on your device and then go to the Service tab. Click on the Update button and then tap on Check for update option. If the update is available then click on Download and install. After installation Reboot the device.
