Now, the Galaxy A42 5G is receiving new software updates in the United States, which include security improvements and new user-friendly features. According to information, users of the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G smartphone locked by Verizon can now receive the May 2021 security patch via OTA (PDA: A426USQU2AUE2).

The Galaxy A42 5G is equipped with Android 10. According to the company’s software upgrade policy, it is eligible for two major Android upgrades. This means you will get the One UI 3.5 update (Android 11) later this year, and then Android 12 next year.
