Launched in March 2019, the Samsung Galaxy A40 smartphone is a mid-range segment. The company shipped this device with Android 9 Pie-based One UI 1.x out of the box. However, this mid-range segment is eligible for two major Android upgrades and four years of regular security patches.
The Korean tech giant has already released the Android 10 based One UI 2.X update for the Galaxy A40 users in March/April 2020. Now, this handset is getting the last major Android update in the form of Android 11, this update also includes version 3.1 of the One UI.

Following the latest drift, the Galaxy A40 will get the One UI 3.1 directly with the Android 11 update. The new software identified by firmware version A405FNXXU3CUC2 will also install the latest OneUI patches released in March 2021.
One thing to note is that the One UI 3.1 features are only available to select Galaxy A40 customers in Germany who purchase the phone from Vodafone Carrier. After confirming the stability of this OTA, OEM will definitely expand its availability in other areas, which is expected in the coming days/weeks.

How to Update:
- Open device’s Settings
- Scroll down and select Software updates
- Hit the Download and install option.
