OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro devices are now collecting the April 2023 security update in North America. Earlier this month, the first rollout of the upgrade was noted in India. In the latest edition, the tech maker is busy expanding the respective firmware in more regions.
As per the inputs, the standard OnePlus 8 smartphone users in North America are receiving the April 2023 update with the OxygenOS 13 IN2015_11.F.64, whereas, users carrying the Pro variant can identify the firmware with the build number IN2025_11.F.64.
We suggest all the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro users get this software update as soon as it appears in the notification panel. However, you can also check it manually via Settings > System & Updates then tap on the Software Update.
The phone will hunt for updates either automatically or you have to touch Check for Updates to fetch a new firmware online. Make sure that your handset holds a sufficient amount of space and battery level to carry out the installation process successfully.
Speaking of the changelog, it doesn’t bring any specific change to the device system except for an updated patch. Although the firmware is beneficial as the new patch contains a range of security fixes and enhancements that will protect the phone from malicious attacks.
Further, it holds stability aspects that prevent the device from data loss and helps it run more efficiently. Also, it is the best way to come one step closer to the OxygenOS 13.1 upgrade.
