OnePlus ending software support for OnePlus 7/7T and OnePlus 7/7T Pro?
Currently, OxygenOS 11.0.9.1 based on Android 11 is the latest operating system update for the OnePlus 7/7T and OnePlus 7/7T Pro. These updates focus on improving camera performance and screen settings, along with other bug fixes. And, FYI, these device is eligible for two major Android upgrades and three years of security patches.

Do you know OnePlus 7/7T and 7/7T Pro software support ending soon?
In March 2022, the OnePlus released an Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 closed beta program for OnePlus 7/7T and OnePlus 7/7T Pro smartphone users in India. And, in the recent development, OnePlus also offered a new OxygenOS open beta version for the OnePlus 7 and /7T series devices. In addition, both the 7 and 7T series devices have received the Android 12-based Open Beta 2 updates in some regions.
As you know, the OnePlus 7T series and 7 series security updates are 3 years old, so they may end in October this year. You will still be able to receive updates after this date, but we cannot guarantee that. Looking at the OnePlus 6/6t, the security updates ended just three years after the 6t was released. To my knowledge, Android 11 on the OnePlus 7T is pretty stable and I’m happy with where it stands.
It seems that the Android 12 update will only cause problems for a decent phone, as many of the bugs found in the OnePlus 8 phone are still unfixed. If there are some critical bugs and the last two patches can’t fix those bugs, then updating users can be left with a seriously problematic phone.
I think it’s better to stay on Android 11 and not update until Android 12 is confirmed to be bug-free and stable on all OnePlus 7 phones. I would like to explain that most of this means that it is no longer safe to use, as for now.
