OnePlus launched its first-ever smartphone alongside the OnePlus 9 series phones. The watch comes with a bunch of premium features such as excellent battery life, outstanding performance, and more.
But it lacks some of the key features on the smartwatch, and the price of these features is almost half of the latter. This made OnePlus’ first attempt at a smartwatch somewhat disappointing, but the company promised to resolve these shortcomings through software updates.
According to the latest information, OnePlus has now begun rolling out such an update for smartwatches, which brings two features that should have been available from the start.

The OnePlus Watch update with version B.48 started rolling out to a small number of users. According to the changelog mentioned in the announcement on the OnePlus community forum, this update includes always display support, remote control of the camera function, new Marathon exercise mode, and some improvements.
Like all software updates for OnePlus, OTA updates for the OnePlus Watch will initially only cover a small number of users. Once OnePlus confirms that the update does not have any serious problems, it should begin to promote it to more users.
The new “always-on display” feature will keep the display of the OnePlus Watch always on. This will greatly affect battery life. OnePlus pointed out that using this feature will reduce battery life by about half.
If you receive an OTA update notification on your OnePlus watch, make sure that there is at least 40% battery remaining on the watch before installing the update. Also make sure to place the watch near the phone to avoid breaking the Bluetooth connection during the installation process.
