OnePlus users asking for better ‘Hidden Apps’ feature with OxygenOS 13.1

OxygenOS 13.1 Hidden Apps feature

OnePlus users are now adding a new substance to the OxygenOS 13.1 feature wishlist – Hidden Apps. Although the respective element already exists in the latest Android 13-based firmware. But as per the user’s statement, the feature didn’t show any useful traits so far.

Recently, we come around a handful of OnePlus fans discussing the uses of the Hidden Apps in their smartphone. While many users said that the element is quite reflective and a huge help in daily life, some consumers said that the company should make a few improvements to this function.

One of the significant reasons defined by users is, even after using the mentioned feature, it doesn’t hide the app. Besides, the new app search feature easily brings up hidden apps on the screen, which defeats the entire purpose of operating the hidden app folder.

To make it clear and specific, another consumer said that the motive of the feature is not to hide the applications completely, but remove them from the screen to keep them out of screenshots and avoid daily use.

However, the fact is, if you find any application using the search bar or the Global Search, you will be able to see those hidden applications. Here’s how the user explained his points:

But if I can find them from the main app folder with the built in search, it is not away from daily use. I use most of my apps from the search because I don’t want to aimlessly scroll the 100 icons in the folder.

Apart from the searching segment, another thing that often irritates the users is the passcode which is required every time to get through the hidden apps. Following the thread, a few users further said that the implementation of the Hide Apps in OxygenOS 13 is not done very well.

Moreover, the old way of a swipe right was more appreciatable rather than the new passcode-protected way. Even we have used the feature frequently and faced confusion while dealing with it. Thus, OnePlus should at least improve the Hidden Apps feature with the upcoming OxygenOS 13.1
