Samsung December 2019 security patch
Samsung is releasing a maintenance release for major flagship models as part of the monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) process. This SMR package includes patches from Google and Samsung.
Along with Google patches, Samsung Mobile provides 13 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items, in order to improve customer’s confidence in the security of Samsung Mobile devices.
Samsung security index (SSI), found in “Security software version”, SMR December-2019 Release 1 includes all patches from Samsung and Google.
Samsung is already rolling out the December 2019 security patch to its smartphones (Check List below).
Device List (December 2019 security patch): December 16, 2019:-
- Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is getting the December 2019 security patch on the T-Mobile and Sprint network carriers in the US. The software version of this update is N960USQS3CSK1/N960USQS3CSK2.
- Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G is getting the DEX update, December 2019 Security patch and also the Chrome Enhancement option in display settings. The software version of this update is F907BXXU2ASK9 and the size is 927MB.
- The US unlocked Galaxy Note 9 is getting the December 2019 security patch with software version N960U1UES3CSK1.
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 – both Wi-Fi only (SM-T860) and LTE (SM-T865) – is getting the December 2019 security update. The software version is T865XXU2ASL3.

You can manually check and download the latest software update by heading into the Settings and then Software update menu, after that press Download updates manually option.
