Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G receiving July 2024 security update 

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G devices have started collecting a new July 2024 security update. It’s a regular monthly patch that aims to maintain the security and stability of Galaxy devices, ensuring an optimized user experience.

The July 2024 update provides improved protection against threats, viruses, and other safety-related assaults. It also provides increased security for the system, to keep confidential data and sensitive information safe and secure.

Additionally, the Security Maintenance Release of July 2024 mentions fixes for over 55 Vulnerability exposures including 4 critical and 21 high-level of CVEs from Google and 33 SVEs from Samsung.

Notably, these fixes are related to One UI Home, System UI, Secure Folder, Knox, System Property, Filter Provider, Configuration Message, IMS service, and more. It also addresses 2 exceptions CVEs that don’t affect Samsung devices.

The July 2024 update is rolling out for carrier-unlocked units of Galaxy Note 20 5G with version N981U1UES8HXFC. Consumers of Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G can also acquire the patch with build N986U1UES8HXFC in the US.

Simultaneously, the update is rolling through OTA, thus, it may take some time to cover all the eligible units, In this case, you can wait, or go with the manual installation process through Settings > Software Update > Download & Install. 

Note – Make sure your device is charged sufficiently and connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection to prevent any interruptions during the update. It’s also recommended to back up your important data before moving toward the installation process.
