Update: The May 2020 security patch for the unlocked Galaxy Note 9 users is now rolling out in the US. The software version of this update is N960U1UES4DTD1.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to receive the major One UI 2.1 update next month but the company is now rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy Note 9. The latest update brings the May 2020 security patch, which is currently rolling out in Germany.

In the May 2020 security patch, the company fixed 9 critical vulnerabilities in the Android OS, along with several high and moderate-risk vulnerabilities.

Along with Google security patches, Samsung provides 19 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items, in order to improve customer’s confidence in the security of Samsung Mobile devices.

To update the version on your device, you will need to have a minimum battery charge of 20%. You may be prompted to update when it’s available, otherwise, system updates can be done over a Wi-Fi connection or with the Software Upgrade Assistant.

To manually check for updates, navigate to Settings > System update. If your system is up-to-date, you don’t need to do anything further. Otherwise, tap Download and install to update your phone.
