January 2022 security patch in the US
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 users in the US are getting the January 2022 security patch. The latest update is available for the locked and unlocked units in the country.
Software versions are:
- Note 9 locked – N960USQS9FVA1
- Note 9 unlocked – N960U1UES9FVA1

Samsung launched its flagship smartphone that belongs to the Galaxy Note lineup – Galaxy Note 9 in 2018. A year after launch, the device received the One UI 1 update based on Android 9, followed by One UI 2 based on Android 10.

Now, Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for Galaxy Note 9 smartphone users. This new firmware update comes with the latest Android and One UI patches released in November 2021.
November 2021 security update for the Galaxy Note 9 is initially released in South Korea and it will be expanded to more regions in the coming days/weeks.

Apart from improving system security, this new Galaxy Note 9 update does not bring any new features or UI changes. Furthermore, this old flagship is not eligible for any new major Android or One UI software updates.
