Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7, and Galaxy Note 8 are some of the famous flagship smartphones of their age. While Samsung has officially ended the software update support for all three – Galaxy S8, S7, and Note 8 smartphones, Lineage OS brings the latest Android 13 update to the devices.
Google launched the stable version of Android 13 OS last month and Samsung is currently running its beta program for Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 devices. The company is tipped to officially launch the stable version of its Android 13-based One UI 5.0 OS in mid-October.

Ahead of this, you can now run the Android 13 version on your years-old Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7, and Galaxy Note 8 smartphones. All thanks to XDA Developers, who have taken a significant step in continuing the device’s legacy by successfully booting the latest Android version.
Samsung Galaxy S8, S7, and Note 8 smartphone users can now take full advantage of all new features and changes of Android 13 by installing the unofficial builds provided by the developers.
According to the information, most of the key components, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, fingerprint reader, sound, cameras, hardware acceleration, and other features are working fine on these devices.
However, because it is an early release, the devices might miss many LineageOS-specific features. Simultaneously, storage encryption and a few network-related features are also disabled on Galaxy S7 for now. On the other side, the Galaxy Note 8’s camera is not working well, however, it is claimed to be fixed shortly.
It’s worth mentioning that on booting the LinegaeOS 20 build, you can not only enjoy all the new features of Android 13 but will also get regular security updates.
Do note that Android 13-based LineageOS 20 is only available for the Exynos-powered global variants and Snapdragon models of the Galaxy S7, S8, and Note 8 are not compatible with it.
