Posted on

In May 2021, Samsung began to update several high-end devices to the latest security patches, and this year’s flagship store has already received this OTA before the start of this month. In addition, the company has also released new firmware updates for mid-range and older flagship phones (such as Galaxy A51, Note FE, Galaxy S9, etc.).

According to the latest information, Samsung will expand the security updates for Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S9, and Galaxy S9 models in May 2021 in more countries/regions. However, the company recently updated the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S9 device in the United States, and now it’s its Exynos model to get the latest security update.

Software versions:

  • Samsung Galaxy Fold – F907BXXU5EUD7
  • Samsung Galaxy S9 – G960FXXUFFUD6
  • Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus – G965FXXUFFUD6

Although we now have detailed information about the fixes and revisions of the May 2021 security patch, it was not available at the time of its first launch. Samsung said that this new security patch contains fixes for 3 critical CVEs, 24 high CVEs, and 17 medium CVEs.

If you are using one of the Samsung Galaxy S9 series flagship products, please manually check for updates by operating the device settings, scroll down and select the “Software Update” section, and finally click “Download and Install”.

Last Security Update For Samsung Galaxy S9

Last month, the South Korean tech giant released its official update support page, which confirmed that Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones are no longer eligible for more monthly security updates. This means that these device owners will receive security updates 4 times a year, and the security patch in May 2021 is the last monthly update.
