We have entered a new month, and Samsung has recently renewed its software update information webpage with the details of the new May 2023 security patch. Alongside this, the company has also published the revised list of monthly and quarterly plans for the month of May 2023 for Galaxy devices.
At the start of every new month, Samsung releases the security patch bulletin, that mentions fixes and improvements, which the new patch will obtain for your Galaxy devices. Simultaneously, the firm also revises its update plan every month to add newly launched smartphones and remove devices that have completed their software support.
Samsung May 2023 security patch details
As per the information, the details of the May 2023 security patch bulletin mention fixes for over 50 CVE items from Google including 4 critical, 48 high, and 3 moderate levels of common vulnerability exposures. However, 2 were fixed in the previous release and 1 isn’t applicable on Galaxy devices.
The bulletin also mentions fixes for a total of 21 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures including Out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the bootloader, Improper access control vulnerability in the Telephony framework, Improper access control in AppLock, Inappropriate export of Android application components in Call Settings, and much more.
In addition, Samsung’s latest Galaxy security software brings fixes to a handful of more moderate issues related to FactoryTest, Knox Enrollment Service, SemShareFileProvider, ActivityManagerService, ThemeManager, GearManagerStub, Tips, Shannon, Exynos CP chipsets, and more.
