Samsung monthly and quarterly security updates eligible device list [October 2020]

Samsung has released the details of the October 2020 security patch, which brings new security patches for Samsung devices. Additionally, the company has also updated the list of eligible Samsung devices for monthly and quarterly security updates.

In the latest list, the most recently released Samsung Galaxy devices have now been added to its update schedule. While some of the devices have been demoted from their monthly security update cycles.

Added and Removed Samsung Devices:

Samsung has added the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy S20 FE 5G to the monthly updated list. Meanwhile, the company is also adding the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Tab Active 3 to a quarterly update cycle.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will no longer receive the monthly updates and will now receive new software quarterly. On the other hand, Samsung won’t give any more software updates to the Galaxy J7 Prime.
